The new generation of information technology industry ranks first among the nine strategic emerging industries. The new generation of information technology industry includes the next generation of information network industry, electronic core industry, emerging software and new information technology services, Internet and cloud computing big data services, artificial intelligence and other industries, its application across the national economy in agriculture, industry and service industry three major industries. In 2018, the new generation of information technology industry accounted for about 40% of the added value of strategic emerging industries in services, accounting for more than 30% of the added value of industrial strategic emerging industries, and its application in agriculture is also expanding, and the new generation of information technology industry has become the largest strategic emerging industry.

The new generation of information technology industry is accelerating. In 2018, calculated at current prices, the industrial added value of the new generation of information technology industry increased by 1.4 times compared with the first statistical increase in 2014; It accounted for 30.9% of the added value of industrial strategic emerging industries, an increase of 6.1 percentage points over 2014. Industrial enterprises above designated size produced 185.26 billion integrated circuits, an increase of 1.0 times over 2013. 240 million kilometers of optical fiber, 5.1 times more than the first statistics in 2014; Industrial robots, civilian drones, smart bracelets and other new products began mass production in recent years, and the output in 2018 was 183,000 units, 3.088 million units and 25.272 million units, respectively. From the national point of view, soon after the popularization of 4G, 5G is coming, and the trend of information technology development is rolling forward.


Four. Progress in information technology is playing an increasingly important role as an engine for economic and social development

Science and technology are the primary productive forces and a powerful driving force for the rapid development of the national economy. Over the past five years, the leading role of the information technology industry in the economy has been increasingly enhanced, and the products and services created have provided a strong driving force for the transformation and upgrading of various sectors of the national economy, improving quality and efficiency, and achieving high-quality development. Information technology has been internalized into an indispensable internal production factor in the production and operation process of enterprises. The national economy is being upgraded from "integration of industrialization and information technology" to "integration of digital economy and real economy".

The level of informatization in the production and operation of various enterprises is constantly improving. At the end of 2018, in enterprises above designated size in most industries, an average of 51.1 computers were used per household, and 28.7 computers were used per 100 employees, and the application of computers in enterprises was rapidly popularized. 84.4 percent of enterprises have realized the informatization of financial management, 43.8 percent of enterprises have realized the informatization of purchase, sales and inventory management, 32.8 percent of enterprises have realized the informatization of human resources management, and 31.4 percent of enterprises have realized the informatization of customer management. Among industrial enterprises above designated size, 45.1% of enterprises use the Internet or internal network in the production process, 28.6% of enterprises use the automatic control of the production process, and 15% of enterprises track and monitor the product production process online.


The information technology industry has driven the development of related industries. Driven by the penetration, reengineering and support of the whole process of the great development of the information technology industry, online shopping, take-out food and other blowout growth. In 2018, 50.71 billion express deliveries were delivered nationwide, 4.5 times more than in 2013, driving the rapid development of express delivery, warehousing and other related industries. By the end of 2018, there were 570,000 legal persons in the transportation, warehousing and postal sectors, 1.3 times more than at the end of 2013; Its assets totaled 35.2 trillion yuan, an increase of 86.7% over the end of 2013; Its operating income for the year was 8.6 trillion yuan, an increase of 57.1 percent over 2013.
