On March 27, 2023, the expanded meeting of the third Council of the seventh session of the China Chemical Fiber Association and the fifth Standing Council of the seventh session were held in Shanghai. China Textile Industry Federation President Sun Ruizhe, former president Wang Tiankai, former Vice president Xu Kunyuan, Vice president Duan Xiaoping, Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Yu Jianyong, Chen Wenxing, China Chemical Fiber Industry Association President Chen Xinwei and other leading guests, as well as the association vice president, executive director and governing units of entrepreneurs and experts, news media and more than 200 people attended the meeting.

Firm confidence to consolidate the "foundation" of high-quality development

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Party pointed out that we must adhere to the focus of economic development on the real economy, promote new industrialization, and accelerate the construction of a manufacturing power.

The textile industry is related to people's livelihood needs, cultural prosperity, linking international and domestic circulation, and has important strategic value in serving national prosperity, national revitalization and people's happiness, and is an important driving force for Chinese-style modernization. The development of fiber materials is the source and forerunner of industry design innovation, process innovation, equipment innovation and product innovation. Sun Ruizhe, president of the China Textile Industry Federation, pointed out in his speech that in 2022, chemical fiber will account for about 85% of the total textile fiber processing in China, China's chemical fiber production will account for more than 70% of the world, and China's total high-performance fiber production capacity will account for more than one-third of the world. Chemical fiber industry is the basic support for the scale advantage, system advantage and innovation advantage of China's textile industry, which determines the depth of innovation, application breadth and value of the industry.

According to the statistics of China Chemical Fiber Association, the output of chemical fiber in 2022 will be 64.88 million tons, a slight decrease of 0.55%. Completed investment in fixed assets increased by 21.4% year on year. Customs data show that in 2022, China's chemical fiber export volume was 5.6545 million tons, an increase of 8.76%, which reflects the increase in international market demand and the improvement of the competitiveness of China's chemical fiber products. In the long run, China's chemical fiber industry to accelerate the transformation and upgrading, the long-term development of good fundamentals have not changed, there is still a large space for development and potential.

For the chemical fiber industry how to promote high-quality development, Sun Ruizhe put forward three suggestions.

First, we will strengthen scientific and technological innovation and promote high-end and safe development. We will continue to optimize resources, improve the scientific and technological innovation system, build an industrial scientific and technological innovation platform with global influence, and promote the deep integration of the innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain, and talent chain. We should uphold self-reliance and strengthen basic research. Strengthen the development of key technologies and key equipment in high-performance fibers and their composites, bio-based raw materials and bio-based fibers, and promote industrialization and large-scale application. We will uphold security and stability and strengthen technical support. Accelerate the research and development of fiber technologies such as coal chemical production, promote the diversification and sustainable development of raw material sources, and promote the formation of a safer and more reliable industrial chain supply chain.

Second, accelerate the upgrading of manufacturing and promote green and intelligent development. Accelerate the digital transformation of the chemical fiber industry and improve the level of lean and flexible. Improve the application level of robots, improve the CNC rate of equipment and machine networking rate of backbone enterprises, and accelerate the construction of industrial Internet. Promote the application of artificial intelligence and other technologies in the industry. Promote the digitalization of the entire manufacturing process and intelligent production equipment, and improve the intelligent manufacturing service platform. With the goal of reaching the peak of carbon and carbon neutrality as the strategic guidance, we will promote technological innovation, model innovation and management innovation, and accelerate the green transformation of the whole industrial chain. We will accelerate the development and construction of green factories, green products, green supply chains and green parks. Give full play to the supporting role of green platforms and systems, and do a good job in green fiber certification and China Fiber zero-carbon action - credible platform construction of green fiber products. Promote the high-value utilization of waste textiles.
