Located on the side of the device, supporting SDSC and SDHC cards (compliant with SDA 2.0 specifications):

Insertion: Push into the card slot until you hear the sound of the card entering

Remove: Push the card back into the limit position and then pull it out

Attention: The SD card must be plugged in and out while the device is powered off to ensure that no program is writing to it

6.2 USB interface

USB Host(Type A):

Used to connect external devices such as USB drives, mice, keyboards, etc

Output capacity: 500mA (full power)

Only for maintenance work in industrial environments

USB Device(Type B):

Used to connect to the upper computer for data transmission or debugging

Recommend using a shielded USB cable with a maximum length of 5m

6.3 Ethernet interface

Interface type: RJ45, 8-pin, with 2 LED indicator lights

Green LED: lit to indicate link connection (LINK)

Yellow LED: flashing indicates data transmission in progress

Technical specifications:

Support speed: 10/100 Mbit/s, adaptive

Cable requirements: shielded twisted pair (STP) CAT5e/6

Mechanical protection: Avoid strong vibrations and tensile forces

Functional differentiation:

Ethernet 1: Can be used as a communication interface or real-time fieldbus interface

Ethernet 2 (C00 model only): Used only as a communication interface, no real-time requirements

6.4 RS-232 interface (COM1)

9-pin D-Sub plug (male), non electrically isolated:

Pin definitions: DCD (1), RXD (2), TXD (3), DTR (4), GND (5), DSR (6), RTS (7), CTS (8), RI (9)

The relationship between maximum baud rate and line length:

2.5m:115200 bit/s

5m:57600 bit/s

10m:38400 bit/s

15m:19200 bit/s

30m:9600 bit/s

6.5 RS-485 interface (COM2)

9-pin D-Sub plug (male), non electrically isolated:

Pin definitions: DATA+(3), DATA - (7), GND (5)

Attention: Pin 6 (5V) is strictly prohibited from being used as an external device power supply

Bus specification:

Characteristic impedance: 120 Ω

Allowable impedance range: 108-132 Ω

Maximum line length: 1200m

Maximum number of nodes per segment: 32

Both ends must be connected with 120 Ω terminal resistors

6.6 CAN interface

9-pin D-Sub plug (male), compliant with CiA standards:

Pin definitions: CAN-L (2), GND (3), CAN-H (7)

Pin 3 (CAN-GND) is internally connected to Pin 6 (GND)

The power supply for the CAN bus driver is provided internally by the device and cannot supply power to external devices

Bus specification:

Characteristic impedance: 120 Ω

Allowable impedance range: 108-132 Ω

Unit length capacitance:<60 pF/m

The relationship between maximum wire length and wire diameter:

100m:≥0.25mm²

250m:≥0.34mm²

500m:≥0.75mm²

Software and System Integration

7.1 Operating System

The XV300 series uses the Linux operating system, providing users with an open and stable software platform. The system supports multiple programming languages and development environments, making it easy to port and develop applications.

7.2 Visualization software

The device can be optionally authorized with GALILEO visualization software (order number suffix -2B or -2C). GALILEO is Eaton's advanced HMI development tool that supports:

Rich graphic elements and animation effects

Multilingual management

Formula management and data recording

Alarm and historical event handling

Multiple PLC driver protocols

7.3 Embedded PLC Functions

The model with PLC function (suffix -2C) integrates the CoDeSys soft PLC runtime system and supports all five programming languages of IEC 61131-3 (LD, FBD, ST, IL, SFC). This enables XV300 to serve as both HMI and controller, simplifying the system architecture and reducing hardware costs.

7.4 Communication Protocol Support

Through Ethernet and serial interface, XV300 can communicate with various brands of PLCs, supporting protocols including but not limited to:

Modbus TCP/RTU

CANopen

J1939

Various proprietary PLC drivers (to be configured in GALILEO)


Safety precautions and maintenance

8.1 Important safety warnings

Explosion hazard:

The equipment shall not be used to plug or unplug connectors with electricity in hazardous and explosive environments

Improper handling of internal lithium batteries may cause explosions and must be professionally disposed of

Electrostatic discharge:

Before coming into contact with the equipment, it is necessary to release static electricity from the human body

Avoid touching static sensitive components (such as connector pins)

Electromagnetic compatibility:

Professional assembled shielded cables must be used

Signal lines and power lines should be wired separately

All connectors need to be tightened or locked to improve shielding effectiveness

Condensation hazard:

Equipment may experience internal condensation after experiencing environmental fluctuations

It is strictly prohibited to turn on the machine when there is condensation

The equipment should be adapted to the ambient temperature before being put into operation

8.2 Daily Maintenance

Cleaning:

Clean the touch screen with a clean, soft, damp cloth

Prohibit the use of sharp or hard objects

Prohibit the use of corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents

Touch screen calibration:

If the touch response is inaccurate, it can be calibrated through the Linux system
