3.2 AC power wiring
Voltage range: 85-264V AC, 47-63 Hz
Power: 400/600 maximum 60VA; 700-1500 maximum 160VA (typical 65VA)
Protective Grounding (PE): It must be connected to the PE terminal of the AC power terminal block, with a wire of 14-12 AWG.
Functional Grounding (FE): For 700-1500 AC models, the GND terminal on the back of the display module needs to be connected to the cabinet ground bus, with a wire of 14-10 AWG and a torque of 1.13-1.36 N · m.
3.3 Terminal block removal and installation
400/600: Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry open the terminal block lock buckle. When installing, insert the bottom first, and then push in the top to tighten it.
700-1500: Loosen the two fixing screws and remove the terminal block; Align and insert during installation, and tighten the screws.
Configuration mode and communication settings
4.1 Enter configuration mode
In a normally running application, the Goto Configuration Mode button must be added to the FactoryTalk View Studio screen in advance in order to switch from running mode to configuration mode. If this button is not available, you can force the configuration mode by pressing the touch screen or F1 key (keyboard type) when a white square appears during the terminal startup process (bottom corner).
The main menu of configuration mode includes:
Load Application MER file)
Run Application
Application Settings (only view device shortcuts)
Terminal Settings
4.2 Communication Driver Configuration (RSLinx Enterprise)
Enter in sequence: Terminal Settings > Networks and Communications > RSLinx Enterprise Communications。 The following parameters can be edited:
Key parameter range of the agreement
DH+Jumper ID, Station Number (0-77 octal), Baud Rate (57.6k/115.2k/230.4k)
DH-485 Station Number (0-31), Baud Rate (9600/19200), Max Station Number
ControlNet Device ID (1-99)
DeviceNet MacID (0-63), Baud Rate (125k/250k/500k)
Serial DF1 Device (PLC_CO/SLC_CO, etc.), Baud Rate (110-115200), Parity, Stop Bits, Ack Timeout
After modification, the terminal must be restarted to take effect.
4.3 Ethernet Configuration
IP address: DHCP or static. If DHCP fails, the system will automatically allocate an address of 169.254. x.x, and communication will not be possible at this time.
Device name: 1-15 characters, can only start with a letter, can contain letters, numbers, and hyphens.
Name servers: primary/secondary DNS, primary/secondary WINS.
Attention: After upgrading the firmware of the terminal, the communication settings will be cleared and must be reconfigured.
4.4 Startup Options (Automatically Run Applications)
In Terminal Settings>Startup Options>FactoryTalk View ME Station Startup:
Go to Configuration Mode: Start to enter the configuration interface (debugging or maintenance mode)
Run Current Application: Automatically runs the loaded application and can choose whether to delete log files or replace RSLinx communication configuration.
For PanelView Plus CE terminals, the startup behavior can also be controlled by adding shortcuts to the Windows startup folder ( Storage Card Windows Startup) and adding parameters/r (run) and/d (delete logs).
Component Replacement and Upgrade Guide
5.1 Applicable Component List
PanelView Plus 700-1500 modular design, replaceable on site:
Logic module (2711P RPx, including memory and CompactFlash)
Communication module (DH-485/DH+/ControlNet/DeviceNet, 2711P RNx)
Display module (2711P RDx)
Backlight (CCFL, 2711P-RLxC)
Battery (2711P-RY2032)
Panel border (2711P RBx)
Button label strip (2711P RFKx)
Attention: 400/600 batteries are non replaceable and should only be removed by professionals at the end of the product's lifespan.
5.2 Compatibility between Logic Modules and CompactFlash
The internal CompactFlash series must match the logic module series. For example:
The logic module series G/H must use 2711P-RWx series H/J CF cards.
When upgrading firmware, if the standard version CF card is installed into the CE logic module, an error message will be generated during startup and prompt for shutdown and replacement.
Replacement steps:
Turn off the power and place the terminal display face down on the anti-static workbench.
Loosen the six screws of the logic module and carefully remove the module.
If RAM (SODIMM) needs to be replaced, remove the metal clip and insert the new module at a 45 ° angle to press it in.
Replace internal CF card: Release the fixed pressure plate, remove the old card, insert the new card (pay attention to the direction of the notch), and reset the pressure plate.
Align the logic module with the two connectors of the display module, press down evenly, and tighten the screws to 0.58 N · m.
5.3 Battery Replacement (700-1500)
When the battery voltage is below 2.75V, it needs to be replaced. Located on the logic module circuit board. After removing the logic module, lift up the battery side and remove it, then install a new battery (with the positive pole facing up). Battery model CR2032, Rockwell order number 2711P-RY2032.
Warning: Improper replacement of lithium batteries may cause explosions. Only operate in non hazardous areas, dispose of waste batteries according to local regulations.
