Basic Introduction

ABB Electrical 1SAR700100R0005 C512 - 24 Temperature Monitoring Relay is a temperature monitoring relay manufactured by ABB. It is used for precise temperature monitoring and control and plays a key role in a wide range of electrical equipment and systems requiring temperature protection.

Technical Data

Power supply parameters

Rated power supply voltage: 24V DC, this voltage provides power for the normal operation of the relay, ensures the stable operation of its internal circuitry, and ensures the accurate monitoring of temperature signals and the effective execution of the corresponding control actions under this voltage.

Temperature parameters

Measuring range: The specific measuring range may vary depending on the model and application scenario, but usually covers a certain temperature range for detecting temperature changes in the environment or equipment. For example, it may be from - 20 ℃ to + 100 ℃ or a wider range, in order to adapt to the requirements of different industrial processes and equipment for temperature monitoring.

Accuracy: It has a certain temperature measurement accuracy, generally between ±1℃ and ±3℃, which ensures that it can accurately detect temperature changes and provide reliable data support for subsequent control actions.

Output contact parameters

Contact type and number: usually includes normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) contacts, the number may be 1 - 2 groups, for example, there are 1 normally open contact and 1 normally closed contact, used for switching circuits when the temperature reaches the set threshold, so as to realise the control of external devices (e.g. alarms, cooling devices, heating devices, etc.).

Contact capacity: the contact can withstand a certain current and voltage, such as the rated current may be 3A - 5A, the rated voltage is 250V AC or 30V DC, which determines the power range of the external device it can control, to ensure that the contact will not be overloaded and damaged during the control process.

Functional Features

Temperature monitoring and control function

The temperature can be monitored in real time and compared with the preset temperature threshold. When the temperature exceeds or falls below the set value, the relay will change the state of its output contacts. For example, in the temperature control of an industrial heating furnace, when the temperature inside the furnace exceeds the set upper limit value, the relay will act to cut off the power supply of the heating equipment; when the temperature is lower than the lower limit value, it can start the heating equipment again, so as to realise the precise control of temperature.

Sensor compatibility

It is compatible with many types of temperature sensors, such as PT100 RTD sensors and NTC thermistor sensors. This makes it easy to integrate with different temperature measuring devices. Users can choose the right sensor according to the actual application scenario and cost and other factors to build a flexible temperature monitoring system.

Adjustable parameter settings

Its temperature threshold, hysteresis value and other parameters can be set through the adjustment buttons or knobs on the front panel. For example, users can set the temperature upper limit to 50℃ and the hysteresis value to 3℃ according to the requirements of specific equipment, so that the relay operates when the temperature rises to 50℃, and restores to its original state only when the temperature drops to 47℃. This adjustability meets the requirements of different users for temperature control precision and control logic.

Status Indication Function

Equipped with indicator lights for visualising the operating status of the relay and the temperature monitoring results. For example, when the temperature is normal, the green indicator light is on; when the temperature exceeds the threshold, the red indicator light is on and the relay operates at the same time. This visual status indication facilitates users to quickly understand the operation of the equipment and whether the temperature is abnormal.

Fault detection function

With fault detection capability, it is able to detect fault conditions such as sensor disconnection and short circuit. When a fault occurs, the relay will send out a corresponding signal, such as an alarm signal or change the output state, to remind the user to timely maintenance, to avoid the sensor failure caused by the failure of temperature monitoring and equipment damage.
