It is a part of Mark VIe control system. Engineered for DIN-rail or flat mounting configurations. Featuring eight RTD inputs, it seamlessly integrates with the PRTD or VRTD I/O processor. Utilizing high-density Euro-block type terminal blocks, the board ensures secure connections and efficient signal transmission. 

Additionally, an embedded ID chip on the board serves diagnostic purposes by identifying the board to the I/O processor. This functionality aids in system maintenance and troubleshooting, enhancing overall reliability and performance. Installation Mounting Options DIN Rail Mounting: Secure the SRTD board and plastic insulator onto a sheet metal carrier designed for DIN rail mounting. Attach the sheet metal carrier to the DIN rail according to GE specifications. Direct Cabinet Mounting: Alternatively, mount the SRTD board and insulator directly onto a sheet metal assembly using bolts within the cabinet. 

Ensure proper alignment and spacing to accommodate the board's dimensions. Wiring Connections RTD Wiring: Connect the eight RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors) directly to the Euro-style box terminal block. Utilize shielded twisted triplet wires, typically 18 AWG, for secure and reliable connections. I/O Cable Shield Terminal: Mount the I/O cable shield terminal using either an external bracket supplied by GE or one provided by the customer. Ensure proper grounding for effective shielding. Terminal Configuration: Terminal block terminals 25 through 34 remain unconnected as per the design specifications. 

E1 and E2 serve as mounting holes for the chassis ground screw connection (SCOM), facilitating secure grounding of the board. There is no shield terminal strip included in this design, simplifying the installation process and ensuring compatibility with the specified mounting options. Operation Excitation Current Supply The board provides a multiplexed excitation current of 10 mA DC to each RTD sensor. This excitation current, although not continuous, is sufficient for accurate temperature measurement. RTD Connectivity The board accommodates up to eight RTDs, allowing for comprehensive temperature monitoring within the system. Each RTD can be either grounded or ungrounded, providing flexibility in sensor configuration. 

Distance and Cable Resistance The RTDs can be installed at a considerable distance from the turbine control cabinet, with a maximum allowable distance of up to 300 meters (984 feet). The maximum two-way cable resistance between the RTDs and the control cabinet is limited to 15 ohms, ensuring reliable signal transmission over extended distances. The board serves as a crucial component in the temperature monitoring system, enabling precise and efficient temperature measurement within the control system. By supplying the necessary excitation current and accommodating multiple RTDs, the board contributes to the overall reliability and performance of the control system, particularly in applications where temperature monitoring is critical for operational safety and efficiency.
