High Fault Tolerance: Provides a tri-module redundant structure (TMR) with three identical sub-circuits, each performing a degree of independent control, and able to tolerate harsh industrial environments.
Field Installable: Can be installed in the field and the module level can be installed and repaired in-line in the field without disturbing the field wiring.
Module expandability: Supports up to 118 I/O modules (analogue and digital) and optional communication modules.
Remote Communications Capability: Communication modules can be connected to Modbus hosts and slaves, or to Foxboro and Honeywell Distributed Control Systems (DCS), other Tricons in peer-to-peer networks, and external hosts in TCP/IP networks.
Remote I/O Support: Remote I/O modules up to 12 kilometres from the mainframe can be supported.
Windows NT-based programming: Develops and debugs control programs using programming software for Windows NT-based systems.
Intelligent Functions: Intelligent functions in the input and output modules reduce the workload of the main processor. There are three microprocessors per I/O module.
