AB 1794-IB8 FLEX I/O Digital Input Modules

Approval for use in hazardous areas

Europe: 1794 - IB8, 1794 - IB16 are approved for use in Zone 2 in Europe with additional requirements such as UV protection, enclosure protection level, avoidance of voltage overruns, etc.

North America: 1794 - IB8, 1794 - IB16, 1794 - IB32 approved for use in North American hazardous areas. Products are labelled with a temperature code, and when combining devices, attention should be paid to the overall temperature code and local regulatory review.


Installation Procedure

Installation to Terminal Block: Rotate key switch to ensure Flexbus connector is fully extended, align module with terminal block recesses, insert and securely install, taking care to prevent debris from falling into the module and possible hazards associated with energised plugs and unplugs.

Wiring: Use 1794-TB3 or 1794-TB3S terminal blocks for 1794-IB8 and 1794-IB16, and 1794-TB32 or 1794-TB32S terminal blocks for 1794-IB32 to connect the input wires, power wires, and common wires according to the corresponding wiring diagrams, respectively, and to daisy-chain the power supply.

Configure Input Module: Configure the input module by setting the bits in the configuration word, mainly to set the input filter time.
