Core positioning and basic functions of the product

ABB cAI04 is ABB Ability ™  Symphony ®  The compact analog input module under the Plus series has the core function of processing up to 8 thermocouple (TC) and millivolt (mV) level group isolated field signals, and each channel can be independently configured. The module needs to complete parameter settings through function codes (FC): FC 221 (I/O device definition) is used to set the overall operating parameters of the module, and FC 222 (analog input channel) is used to configure the engineering units, high and low alarm limits, and other details of a single input channel.

Key Performance and Technical Advantages

(1) Signal processing capability

Signal type and range: Supports multiple thermocouple types (international standards: E, J, K, R, S, T, B, L, N (14/28 AWG), U; Chinese standards: E, S, and mV range (0~100 mV or -100~+100 mV).

A/D conversion performance: Each channel has a 16 bit polarized A/D resolution and is equipped with 2 A/D converters (serving 4 input channels each). The update time for 8 channels is only 300 milliseconds, and the accuracy reaches ± 0.05% of the full-scale range (FSR=200 mV).

Cold end compensation: supports three configurable methods, namely built-in RTD on module mounting base, external RTD connected to module base TB3, and user configured independent application input.

(2) Reliability and Protection

Isolation performance: 1500V 1-minute galvanic isolation is achieved between on-site signals and logic circuits, and 1 × 8 groups of isolation are used for channels (also 1500V 1-minute).

Anti interference capability: The minimum normal mode noise suppression is -70 dB, and the minimum common mode noise suppression (including DC) is -90 dB. At the same time, it has passed multiple electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests, such as ESD immunity, surge immunity, etc. (all reaching IEC/EN standard Severity level 3 or 4).

Diagnosis and maintenance: The front panel is equipped with a STATUS indicator light (R running light, F fault light, and 1-8 channel lights), supports mini USB local connection, and can achieve remote diagnosis of HN800 devices through SPE; The open circuit detection time is less than 5 seconds and does not require manual calibration, with automatic calibration function.

Basic Information and Environmental Adaptability
