ABOUT THE 57C414
Reliance Electric designed the 57C414 to be a Modbus Interface Module. This device was very possibly also put out by Baldor Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri depending on what year it was in mass-production.
The 57C414 was originally designed to be a component in an AutoMax control system. It functioned as a Modbus Assembly Gateway Module. Its primary directive was to promote communication between AutoMax and Modbus devices and connect them. It used a specific set of Modbus directive to do this. The 57C382 has the ability can use one to four AutoMAx Processors that care on the same rack system and then used them like a Modicon 584 style device. It could then be perceived by the Modbus link.
