Basic information

The ABB 12 - Slot DIN Rail Housing With Extension 1135 H&B Contronic is a 12-slot DIN rail housing with extension. It is a joint product of ABB and Hartmann&Braun for mounting various electronic modules.

The DIN rail is a standardised mounting rail that is widely used in industrial automation and electrical control. The 12 slots of this housing allow for easy insertion of different functional modules such as controllers, relays, communication modules, etc.

Functional features

Good expandability: 12 slots provide ample space for system expansion. Users can flexibly add or replace different modules according to the actual needs, so as to build a control system that meets specific functional requirements. For example, power supply modules can be inserted into one slot to provide power support for other modules, and input/output modules can be inserted into other slots to connect external devices.

Standard DIN-rail mounting: The DIN-rail mounting makes it easy to install and remove the modules. This type of mounting is widely accepted in industrial environments because it allows for quick installation of the unit in a control cabinet or distribution box and easy adjustment of the module's position for maintenance and repair.

Compatibility: The enclosure has excellent compatibility with other products in the H&B Contronic range and with modules that comply with the relevant standards. This means that the user can choose from a wide range of standard-compliant modules from different manufacturers to be mounted in this enclosure without having to worry about compatibility issues, as long as the dimensions and electrical interfaces of these modules are in accordance with the requirements.

Areas of application

Industrial automation and control systems: In automated production lines, various control and monitoring modules are installed. For example, in the production line control system of an automobile manufacturing plant, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) expansion modules, sensor interface modules, motor drive modules, etc., can be installed to achieve precise control and condition monitoring of production line equipment.

Power system control and protection: In the control equipment of a substation or distribution room, it can be used to install relay protection modules, power monitoring modules, communication modules, etc. These modules can work together to realise the control and condition monitoring of the power system. These modules can work together to achieve safety monitoring and protection of the power system, such as fault detection, alarm and automatic isolation of fault areas and other functions.

Intelligent Building Automation System: In intelligent buildings, it is used to install lighting control modules, air-conditioning control modules, access control system modules and so on. By integrating these modules in a single housing, centralised management and automation control of various equipment in the building can be easily achieved, improving energy efficiency and living comfort.

Supported ABB I/O Systems and Families

• S800 I/O, a distributed modular I/O system for communication via ModuleBus  and PROFIBUS DP. 

• S900 I/O, a remote I/O system (for hazardous areas) that can be connected to  PLCs via PROFIBUS DP. 

• S200 I/O and S200L I/O, two compatible, modular I/O systems. S200 I/O  modules can be connected via CI856 or PROFIBUS DP to PLCs. • S100 I/O, a rack-based I/O system that can be connected to PLC using the  CI856 interface module. 

• Satt I/O, makes it possible to use Satt Rack I/O (an older Satt I/O system)  connected to PLC using the CI865 communication interface.
