Input/output subsystem
The PlantCruise Process controller C300 uses a series 8 vertically mounted input/output subsystem and various fieldbus interfaces.
The 8 series I/O module is PlantCruise's newly designed input/output system.
The package shape of the 8 series I/O module is novel and unique, and the 18 degree tilt is conducive to the uniform distribution of heat in the cabinet. Through its integrated input and output wiring assembly (IOTA) and mounting bracket installed directly in the cabinet, without the need for traditional chassis, fewer mounting parts in exchange for higher MTBF and availability and less installation space: the vertical installation of the module, so that the cabinet heat evenly distributed, reduce "hot spots", extend product life; At the same time, the vertical installation increases the entrance and exit of the field connection and improves the connection efficiency; The power supply and backup battery are side-mounted and do not take up I/O space.

Profibus Interface Module (PGM)
PlantCruise offers 8 series of Profibus interface modules (PGM), which as a master support Profibus DP protocol to achieve communication with Profibus slave equipment. The PGM module of the 8 series is installed in the C300 control cabinet, powered by the power supply of the control cabinet, and connected to the C300.
The 8 Series PGM has the following features:
● Can achieve redundancy. Including support for PGM module redundancy, Profibus bus redundancy (need to support bus redundancy from the slave station); PGM module redundancy, Profibus bus is not redundant, or
PGM module is not redundant, Profibus bus redundancy and other combinations.
●PGM achieves redundancy in the true sense, without the need for customized configuration, that is, when the main module communicates, the standby module synchronizes, and once the main module fails, the standby module automatically switches without disturbance to the communication.

●PGM uses the Process Data Access (PDA) protocol to achieve data communication with C300, which is faster than the I/O communication protocol
● The Process Data Collection (PDC) is used to manage and pair the external devices, so that one or more PIOMB functional blocks in the C300 can be corresponding. For example, to connect the Siemens ET200M remote I/O, each PDC corresponds to a piece of I/O card, if it is a hybrid AI/AO card, you need two PDCS to support the graphical Profibus lower device communication status and diagnosis screen
Corrosion protection
To ensure maximum reliability in corrosive industrial environments, Honeywell offers additional corrosion resistant coating options for system hardware (optional).
All 8 Series modules are available as coated (module number starts with 8C)/ uncoated (module number starts with 8U). The 8C module uses an electronic component designated for harsh environments
The corrosion protection layer is coated. Other system components such as controllers, IOTA, etc., can be coated with or without optional finishes.
All controllers and I/O modules equipped with coating can withstand G3 grade or harsh environments. This harsh environment is defined in ANSI/ISA-S71.04-1985, "Environmental Conditions for Process Measurement and Control Systems: Air Pollution.
