Basic Introduction

The ABB Electrical 1SVR011701R2500 Multifunction RTD Temperature Signal Converter is a multifunction RTD temperature signal converter manufactured by ABB for converting temperature signals measured by RTD sensors (e.g. PT100) into standard electrical outputs for acquisition and processing by other devices. It is used to convert temperature signals measured by RTD sensors (e.g. PT100) into standard electrical signals for acquisition and processing by other devices.

Functional features

Multiple Output Signal Options: The converter has a wide range of output signal types, including 0-10V voltage signals, 0-20mA current signals, and 4-20mA current signals. This versatility makes it compatible with different types of receiving devices and meets the needs of various industrial automation control systems. For example, 0-10V output can be selected in some controllers that require high-precision voltage signal input, while 4-20mA current signal output is more suitable for long-distance transmission or occasions with high anti-interference requirements.

Highly accurate conversion: With high conversion accuracy, the rated input range is from - 50℃ to + 500℃, and the accuracy is up to ±0.5% of full scale. This means that it can provide accurate and reliable temperature signal conversion over the entire measurement range, ensuring the accuracy of temperature measurement and meeting the stringent requirements for temperature control in industrial processes. For example, in chemical production, where accurate temperature measurement and control is critical to product quality, this signal converter provides a highly accurate input signal to the temperature control system.

Fast Response: With a response time of only 10ms, the signal converter is able to quickly convert the temperature change measured by the RTD sensor into a corresponding electrical output signal. In some application scenarios that require high response to temperature changes, such as rapid heating or cooling industrial process control, the fast response time helps to achieve more accurate temperature control and more timely response of the system to improve production efficiency and product quality.

Electrical isolation function: With three-way electrical isolation function, it effectively isolates the electrical interference between input, output and power supply, which improves the stability and reliability of the system. In complex industrial electrical environments, electrical interference between different devices may affect the accuracy of the signal and the normal operation of the system, the signal converter's electrical isolation function ensures the stable transmission of temperature signals and protects the connected devices from electrical interference.

Strong configurability: It contains 2 general configurable devices and 24 single-function devices, and there is no need to adjust the single-function devices, so users can flexibly configure and use it according to specific application requirements, and conveniently realise different signal conversion and processing functions to adapt to diversified industrial automation application scenarios.

Technical parameters

Input parameters: for PT100 RTD sensors, support 2-wire or 3-wire connection, input temperature range of - 50 ℃ to + 500 ℃.

Output parameters: output signal type can be selected from 0-10V voltage signal, 0-20mA current signal or 4-20mA current signal, the accuracy of the output signal can reach ±0.5% of full scale.

Power supply parameters: the working power supply is 24V DC, the stability of the power supply voltage on the normal operation of the signal converter and the conversion accuracy has an important impact on the general requirements of the power supply voltage fluctuations within a certain range to ensure its stable performance.

Environmental parameters: operating temperature range of 0 ℃ to + 60 ℃ / -20 ℃ to + 80 ℃, protection class IP20, can adapt to the general temperature and protection requirements of industrial environments, but in some harsh industrial environments, may need to take additional protective measures.

Application Areas

Industrial process control: Widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing and other industrial processes in the temperature monitoring and control. For example, in the fermentation process in the pharmaceutical industry, accurate control of the temperature inside the fermenter is critical to the quality of the drug, the signal converter can accurately convert the temperature signal measured by the PT100 RTD sensor into a standard signal that can be recognised by the controller, to achieve accurate control of the fermentation temperature.

HVAC system: In heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, it is used to measure and control indoor and outdoor temperatures, the return air temperature of air conditioning units and so on. Machinery Manufacturing: In metal processing, plastic moulding and other machinery manufacturing processes, it is used to monitor and control the temperature of processing equipment. For example, in the metal heat treatment process, accurate control of the temperature of the heating furnace has an important impact on the performance of metal materials, the signal converter can provide accurate temperature signals for the temperature control system to ensure the stability of the heat treatment process and product quality.

Power system: In substations, power plants and other power facilities, it is used to monitor the temperature of transformers, switchgear and other equipment. By converting the temperature signal measured by the temperature sensor into a standard electrical signal, it can realise remote monitoring and alarming of the temperature of the power equipment, detect overheating faults of the equipment in time, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system.
