DESCRIPTION 

Advant Controller 210 is a small, cost-effective system from the Advant series. Advant Controller 210 is configured and programmed using the Advant Control Builder, an application that runs under Windows NT®.

Software

The "Advant Control Builder" programme offers the control system a wide range of functions, such as logic functions, PID controllers, alarm processing functions and communication options with other control systems. control systems, human-machine interfaces (HMI) and third-party systems.

PID control

PID control functions are available in the controller system.

Alarm processing

Functions for alarm and event detection as well as for alarm printouts on local local printers are available.

Communication

Communication with the programming tool takes place via a serial interface using the MMS protocol (SattLink). is used.

Communication with other systems  (e.g. HMI, SCADA and control systems) can be conducted via the serial RS232 channel. The protocols available are 3964R (as client), COMLI and MMS (SattLink) are available.  User-defined protocols can also be used.

Hardware

Advant Controller 210 has integrated I/O units, additionally - depending on the model model - up to 16 external I/O units can be can be connected.

Programming and configuration is carried out using a PC and the "Advant Control Builder" software, which are connected to one of the two integrated RS232 channels via the TK211 cable to one of the two integrated RS232 channels. 

Decentralised I/O - PROFIBUS-DP

The CI724 unit forms an optional interface for the PROFIBUS-DP fieldbus and is used for the decentralised connection of I/O units from the S800, S200 and S200L series over a maximum distance of distance of 100 m to 1200 m, depending on the transmission speed.

I/O units from the S800 series are connected 

connected via one or more I/O adapters CI830 are connected. Each adapter can be used for the maximum number of I/O units permitted for the number of I/O units permitted for the respective controller model. Up to seven additional rows of I/O units can be can be connected to the adapter via optical cables and TB820 optical interface units to the adapter CI830 via optical cables and optical interface units.
