Measuring principle

The measuring principle of the ABB PFCL 201 load cell is based on Pressductor® technology and the fact that the magnetic permeability of magnetic materials changes under mechanical stress. The sensor is a thin film machined on the load cell, with the primary and secondary windings wound at right angles through four holes in the load cell. When the primary winding is powered through an alternating current, a magnetic field is generated around the primary winding. Since the two windings are wound at right angles to each other, no magnetic field is generated around the secondary winding as long as there is no load on the load cell. When the sensor is subjected to a mechanical force in the direction of measurement, the propagation of the magnetic field changes to encircle the secondary winding, generating an alternating voltage in this winding. The control unit converts this alternating voltage into a DC voltage proportional to the external force, thus enabling measurement.

Textile, plastics and rubber industries: for measuring the tension of web materials to ensure the uniformity and quality of materials during processing.

Other industrial self-control environment: such as water conservancy and hydropower, railway transport, intelligent buildings and other fields, for a variety of occasions that require accurate measurement and control of tension.

Overload capacity: 50.0KN, 100.0KN, 200.0KN, 500.0KN, etc. in the measuring direction (vertical); 12.5KN, 25.0KN, 50.0KN, 125.0KN, etc. in the lateral direction (horizontal, h = 300mm).

Deflection: 0.02mm, i.e. 0.8 for 1/1000 inch.

Spring constant: 250KN/mm, 500KN/mm, 1000KN/mm, 2500KN/mm, etc., i.e. 1000lbs./inch, 2860lbs./inch, 5720lbs./inch, 14300lbs./inch.
