DESCRIPTION

Bently Nevada’s Electronic Overspeed Detection System for the 3500 Series Machinery Detection System provides a highly reliable, fast response, redundant tachometer system intended specifically for use as part of an overspeed protection system. It is designed to meet the requirements of American Petroleum Institute Standards 670 and 612 pertaining to overspeed protection.

Main Features

High reliability: The system adopts redundant design, including redundant power supply and redundant tachometer, to ensure that the normal operation of the system can still be maintained in the event of a single component failure.

Fast Response: The system can monitor the rotational speed of machinery and equipment in real time and quickly send out an alarm signal when it exceeds the speed limit, avoiding possible accidents.

Multiple Sensor Support: The system supports multiple types of sensors, including eddy current sensors and magnetic sensors, and is able to receive signals from different sensors for broader compatibility.

Easy to Configure and Maintain: The system provides easy-to-use configuration software and humanised user interface, which is convenient for users to configure, debug and maintain the system.

Technical Specifications

Input Signal: Each overspeed detection module receives a signal from an eddy current sensor or a magnetic sensor, and the input signal ranges from +10.0 V to -24.0 V. Signals outside this range are limited within the module.

Sensors: Supports Bently Nevada 3300 8mm eddy current sensors, 3300 16mm high temperature eddy current sensors (HTPS), 7200 5mm, 8mm, 11mm, and 14mm eddy current sensors, 3300 RAM eddy current sensors, or magnetic sensors.

Alarm Settings: Setpoints are all set by software configuration, alarm points are adjustable and are typically adjusted from 0 to 100% of full scale.

Output: A variety of output options are provided, including proportional output value, recorder output and relay output, etc., which are convenient for users to choose according to actual needs.

Functions and Applications

Overspeed protection: The system can monitor the rotational speed of mechanical equipment in real time and send out an alarm signal when the rotational speed exceeds the preset threshold, so as to realise the overspeed protection function.

Data Recording and Analysis: The system supports data recording and analysis function, which can record the rotational speed data of mechanical equipment and conduct statistical analysis to help users optimise the operation and maintenance strategy of the equipment.

Integration with other systems: the system supports a variety of communication protocols, and can be seamlessly integrated with other automation equipment to achieve automated control and monitoring of the entire production line.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation: When installing the system, ensure that all components are properly connected and follow the manufacturer's installation guidelines. Particular attention should be paid to the installation location of the redundant power supply and redundant tachometer to ensure system redundancy.

Maintenance: Periodically clean and inspect the system to ensure that its surfaces are free of dirt and damage. At the same time, the system's connecting wires and connectors should be inspected for looseness or damage, and damaged parts should be replaced in a timely manner. In addition, the system needs to be calibrated and tested regularly to ensure its measurement accuracy.
