Description
IPFAN14 Power System Fan

ABB IPFAN14 Power System Fan

Basic introduction

The ABB IPFAN14 Power System Fan is a fan designed by ABB to dissipate heat from power systems or related equipment. It plays a key role in ensuring that the equipment operates within the appropriate temperature range and is an important component in maintaining stable equipment operation.

Functional features

Highly efficient cooling function

High airflow output: capable of providing a large airflow to meet the heat dissipation needs of the equipment. Its airflow size is usually measured in cubic meters per hour (m³/h), for example, it may have an airflow range of 100 - 500m³/h, depending on the fan speed, blade design and other factors. A larger airflow can quickly remove the heat generated by the equipment, effectively preventing damage to the equipment due to overheating.

Optimized air flow: Highly efficient air flow is achieved through rational blade design and airflow guidance. The shape, angle and number of the blades are carefully designed so that the fan can generate a stable and strong airflow when rotating, introducing cold air into the equipment and discharging hot air at the same time, forming a good heat exchange environment.

Reliable operation performance

Long-life design: High-quality motors and bearings and other key components are used to provide a long service life. The design of the motor takes into account the requirements of continuous operation and is able to maintain stable performance under long working hours. The bearings are usually made of wear-resistant materials and are well lubricated to reduce friction loss and extend the overall life of the fan, which generally lasts 3 - 5 years or even longer.

Stable speed control: able to maintain a stable speed within a certain voltage and load range. The stability of the rotational speed is crucial to ensure a stable output of airflow. It can be realized through the internal motor control circuit or external speed control device to achieve precise control of the speed, for example, the speed fluctuation range may be controlled within ±5%, to ensure the consistency of the cooling effect.

Low noise operation

Silent design: Noise control is taken into account during the design process. By optimizing the shape and material of the blades, the balance of the motor, and the use of vibration-damping measures, the noise generated by fan operation is effectively reduced. The noise level is typically low, for example, it may be between 30 - 50 decibels (dB) when measured at a distance of 1 meter from the fan, without causing noticeable disturbance to the surroundings and the operator.

Compatibility and Ease of Installation

Multiple Installation Methods: Supports multiple installation methods, such as screw fixing, snap mounting, etc., which makes it convenient for users to install it on different equipments or cabinets. It can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or at an angle to accommodate the layout and heat dissipation needs of various devices. For example, in a power control cabinet, the appropriate mounting method can be selected according to the internal structure of the control cabinet and the location of the vents.

Compatible with different equipment: It can be compatible with a variety of power system equipment from ABB and similar equipment from other brands. It can be integrated as a heat dissipation component into power modules, control cabinets, servers and other equipment, providing an effective heat dissipation solution for these devices.

Technical Parameters

Electrical Parameters

Operating voltage range: Generally the operating voltage range is wide, for example, it can work between 12V - 48V direct current (DC), so that it can be adapted to different power supply environments. Different operating voltages may affect the fan speed and airflow, users can choose the appropriate voltage according to the actual needs.

Power Consumption: Power consumption is usually between 10 - 50 watts (W), depending on the fan model, speed and load. Lower power consumption helps to reduce the overall energy consumption of the device and also reduces the pressure on the power supply.

Performance Parameters

Airflow range: As mentioned earlier, the airflow range is generally around 100 - 500m³/h, which is one of the most important indicators of a fan's cooling capacity. The airflow is affected by factors such as fan diameter, speed and blade shape.

Speed range: The speed range may be between 1000 - 3000 revolutions per minute (rpm), which directly determines the airflow and noise level. Users can choose the appropriate speed according to the cooling needs and noise limitations of their equipment.

Noise level: Measured at a distance of 1 meter from the fan, the noise level is usually between 30 - 50dB, which meets the requirements of most industrial environments and indoor equipment.

Mechanical Parameters

Dimensions: The dimensions of the fan vary according to the specific model, and may range from 100 - 200 millimeters (mm) in diameter and 30 - 80 mm in thickness. The dimensions take into account the balance between installation space and cooling efficiency, allowing for easy installation in a wide range of equipment.

Mounting holes and dimensions: Standard mounting holes and dimensions are provided for easy installation with common screws or clips. Mounting hole spacing and diameters are in accordance with industry standards, for example, mounting hole spacing may be 80 - 160mm and diameters 4 - 6mm.
