ABB NDSO01 Digital Output Module

Basic Information

Place of Origin and Appearance: Originally from Sweden, usually white in color, dimensions approx. 17.8cm x 5.1cm x 33.0cm, weight approx. 0.5kg.

Functional features

Output channels: with multiple digital output channels, it can convert digital signals from the control system into actual electrical output signals to control the switching status of external devices, and each channel can be controlled independently.

Signal processing: capable of processing and converting the input digital signals to ensure the accuracy and stability of the output signals. Advanced signal conditioning circuits and logic control circuits may be used inside the module.

Fault diagnosis and protection: with fault diagnosis function, it can monitor the working status of the output channel in real time, such as short circuit, overload and other fault conditions. When a fault occurs, the module will send an alarm signal to the control system through the corresponding indicator or communication interface, which is convenient for maintenance personnel to find and deal with the fault in time. The module usually contains internal protection components such as fuses, which can protect the module circuit and field equipment from current surges and short circuits.

Technical Parameters

Electrical parameters: usually 24V DC power supply, power supply voltage allows a certain range of fluctuations, generally ±10% or ±20%. The power consumption of the module is low, generally within a few watts, the specific power consumption depends on the use of the output channel and other factors.

Output parameters: The output voltage range is generally 5V-24V DC, which can be adjusted according to the actual demand. The output current of each output channel usually ranges from a few milliamps to a few amperes, such as 0-2A. The response time of the output signals is short, generally within the range of milliseconds, and can respond quickly to the commands of the control system.

Application Areas

Industrial automation control system: such as chemical, petroleum, natural gas and other industries in the production process automation control system, can control a variety of valves, pumps, fans and other equipment opening and closing.

Power system automation: in the automation control system of power plants, substations and other places, it can control the switching status of power generation equipment, power transmission equipment and the operation of some auxiliary equipment.

Intelligent building field: it can be used to control the operation of lighting system, air conditioning system, elevator system and other equipments in the building to realize intelligent management and energy-saving control of the building.

Transportation industry: in the automatic control system of subway, light rail, railroad and other transportation systems, it can control the operation of signaling equipment, turnout equipment, vehicle section equipment and so on.

· 4 individually configurable analog outputs ±10 V, 0...20 mA, 4...20 mA 

· 2 counters for counting frequencies up to 50 kHz, configurable in 7 different operating modes · 1 CS31 system bus interface for system expansion 

· 1 interface for connecting communication modules (e.g. 07 KP 90) 

· 2 serial interfaces COM1, COM2 

– as MODBUS interfaces and 

– for programming and test functions 

· Real-time clock 

· LEDs for displaying operating conditions and error messages 

· Detachable screw-type terminal blocks 

· Fastening by screws or by snapping the device onto a DIN rail 

· The lithium battery 07 LE 90 can be put into the battery compartment in order to 

– store and backup the user program in the RAM 

– store and backup data which is additionally contained in the RAM, e.g. the status of flags 

– backup the time and date (real-time clock) 

· RUN/STOP switch for starting and aborting the program execution
