Basic information

Series: Part of ABB Bailey's Infi 90 and Net 90 series, which work in conjunction with other components in the series to provide reliable communication links for industrial automation systems.

Functionality

Signal transmission and communication functions:

Remote Link Connection: It is mainly used to establish and maintain communication links between remote devices. It can receive signals from other terminal units or devices and accurately transmit them to the target device or system, ensuring effective data exchange between devices in different locations and realising remote monitoring and control of industrial processes.

A variety of communication interface support: with a variety of communication interfaces, it can adapt to different communication protocols and signal types. For example, it supports the communication link connection with other TRL terminal units and station serial communication link, which can meet the communication requirements between different devices and facilitate the integration with various industrial equipment.

Signal Processing and Conversion Function: Performs the necessary processing and conversion of the input signal to make it meet the requirements of the target device or system. For example, amplification, filtering and other operations on the signal to improve the quality and stability of the signal to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the signal in the transmission process.

Power Distribution Function: It can provide 24 VDC power supply for the connected devices, providing power support for the normal operation of remote devices, reducing the dependence on external power supply and simplifying the wiring and power configuration of the system.

Inputs: Including communication link signals from other TRL Terminal Units, station serial communication link signals, etc.

Output: Includes communication link signals to another Terminal Unit, station serial communication link signals, and 24 VDC power supply for the connected station.

Environmental Specifications :

Operating temperature: 0°C to 70°C.

Relative humidity: 0% to 95% at 55°C (non-condensing), 0% to 45% at 70°C (non-condensing).

Electromagnetic compatibility: For normal operation of the equipment, the cabinet door should be kept closed and communication equipment should be located at least 2m away from the cabinet to prevent electromagnetic/radiofrequency interference.

Application Fields

Power industry: used in power plants, substations and other places to achieve communication and data transmission between remote devices, such as connecting remote protection devices, measurement and control equipment, smart meters, etc., real-time monitoring and control of the operating status of the power system to ensure the stable operation of the power system.

Chemical industry: In the chemical production process, it can be connected to production equipment, sensors and controllers distributed in different areas to achieve remote monitoring and automated control of the production process, such as remotely controlling the temperature and pressure of the reactor, monitoring the flow rate of the pipeline, etc., to improve the production efficiency and safety.

Metallurgical industry: It is used in the automation control system of metallurgical plants, connecting the control system and monitoring equipment of rolling mills, furnaces and other equipment, realising remote operation and condition monitoring, ensuring the smooth running of the metallurgical production process and the stability of product quality.

Pharmaceutical industry: It can be used to connect the control systems and monitoring sensors of various equipments in the pharmaceutical production line, such as reaction tanks, drying ovens, sterilisation equipments, etc., to realise remote monitoring and precise control of the pharmaceutical production process, and to ensure the quality of the pharmaceutical production and compliance.
