ABB NTU-738A Analog Output Termination Unit

Function

Signal conversion and output: Convert digital signals from the control system into analogue signals, such as 4-20mA, 0-10V and other standard analogue signals, in order to drive the actuators, such as regulating valves, inverters and so on, to achieve the control of physical quantities.

Signal Conditioning and Amplification: Condition and amplify the output analogue signals to ensure that the signals have sufficient driving capability and accuracy to meet the requirements of different loads.

Isolation protection: Provide electrical isolation function to prevent the interference signal of field equipment from being strung into the control system, and at the same time, protect the control system from the influence of field equipment failure to improve the reliability and stability of the system.

Diagnosis and alarm: with self-diagnostic function, it can monitor its own working status and the abnormal situation of the output signal in real time. When there is a signal open circuit, short circuit, over range and other faults, it can send out an alarm signal in time to remind the user to carry out the corresponding processing.

Technical parameters

Output signal type: 4-20mA current signal, 0-10V voltage signal, etc. Different application scenarios and equipment may require different types of output signals.

Output accuracy: generally between ±0.1% and ±0.5%, high-precision analogue output terminal unit can achieve higher accuracy, the output accuracy directly affects the control accuracy of the actuator.

Resolution: usually 12 to 16 bits, higher resolution can provide more delicate control effect, to meet the higher requirements of control accuracy occasions.

Load capacity: For current output type, the load resistance can generally support 0-500Ω or a larger range; for voltage output type, the output impedance is lower to ensure that the signal driving ability to drive different types and power of the load equipment.

Response time: generally between milliseconds to seconds, fast response time can make the actuator respond faster to the instructions of the control system and improve the dynamic performance of the system.

Power Requirements: The operating power supply is usually a DC power supply with a voltage range of 18V to 30V DC, and the power consumption of the power supply is low, usually around a few watts to a dozen watts.

Environmental parameters: the operating temperature range is generally - 20 ℃ to + 70 ℃ or so, some models may support a wider temperature range, the relative humidity range is generally 5% to 95% (non-condensing).
