Name: ABB NTU-7C9 Termination Unit, also often written as NTU7C9 Termination Unit.

Series: Belongs to the ABB Bailey Infi 90 series.

Functional features

Signal termination and isolation: As a termination unit, it can effectively terminate input or output signals, prevent signal reflection and interference, and ensure the accuracy and stability of signal transmission. At the same time, it provides a good electrical isolation function to isolate signals with different potentials, avoiding mutual interference and influence between signals and improving the reliability and safety of the system.

Flexible configuration: with a certain degree of flexibility, it can be configured and expanded according to specific application requirements to meet different signal processing and control requirements, which is convenient for users to apply in different industrial automation scenarios.

Technical Parameters

Electrical parameters: the working voltage is generally within a specific DC voltage range, the specific value may vary slightly due to specific models and application scenarios, but usually in a relatively stable interval to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.

Number of channels: with multiple signal channels, the number of channels determines the number of signals that can be processed at the same time, generally according to different application requirements and system size, to provide a different number of channel configuration options, such as 4-channel, 8-channel and so on.

Signal type: support a variety of types of signals, including digital signals, analogue signals, etc., to meet the different types of sensors and actuators signal connection and processing needs, so that it has a wider applicability in industrial automation systems.

Application Fields

Industrial automation control system: Widely used in all kinds of industrial automation production lines, such as automobile manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical and other industries in the automation control system, used to connect and process all kinds of sensors, controllers and actuators signals, to achieve accurate control and monitoring of the production process.

Power system: in the power system of the substation, power plant and other places, used for signal acquisition, transmission and control, monitoring and controlling the operation status of power equipment, to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system.

Process control industry: in the chemical, petroleum, metallurgy and other process control industry, the measurement and control of various process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow and other parameters of the signal processing and control, to ensure the stability of the production process and product quality consistency.

The AC 800F is available in two versions:  

• 4 MB static RAM, 4 MB EPROM  

• 16 MB synchronous dynamic RAM,   8 MB EPROM

The AC 800F optionally provides several levels  of redundancy: 

• device redundancy with 2 AC 800F  

• power supply redundancy (24 V DC)  

• Ethernet communication redundancy   (standard)  

• Cable redundancy for Profibus DP,   requires external equipment (RLM01)

AC 800F Controller Redundancy

Controller redundancy can be achieved by installing two  AC 800F. To ensure quick and smooth takeover by the secondary AC 800F in case the primary AC 800F fails, a dedicated  redundancy communications link through the second Ethernet  module makes sure that both AC 800F are always synchronized. All inputs and outputs are designed to support redundant  operation.
