Basic Parameters

Rated voltage: Usually applicable to a variety of standard industrial voltage, such as 208V AC - 690V AC and other common voltage levels, the specific rated voltage should be determined according to the actual use of scenarios and motor requirements.

Rated current: The rated current is the maximum current that the soft starter can normally control the motor starting and running, the rated current and other detailed parameters of the model should be referred to the product manual to determine the specific rated current according to different application scenarios and motor power to match the corresponding rated current.

Rated power: the rated power is related to the rated voltage and rated current, different voltage levels correspond to different rated power, for example, in 400V AC, may correspond to the rated power of several tens of kilowatts, etc., the specific value of the product technical data shall prevail.

Functional features

Soft start and soft stop function: By controlling the conduction angle of the thyristor, the input voltage of the motor starts from zero and rises gradually according to the preset function relationship until it reaches the rated voltage, so as to realise the smooth starting of the motor, avoiding the large current impact and mechanical vibration caused by the direct starting. When stopping, the motor voltage can also be gradually reduced to zero to achieve soft stop, reducing the impact on equipment and power grid.

A variety of protection functions:

Overload protection: real-time monitoring of the motor current, when the current exceeds the set value of overload current, the soft starter will automatically cut off the power supply of the motor and send an alarm signal to protect the motor from overload damage.

Phase loss protection: During operation, the three-phase line current is continuously detected, and the power supply will be cut off immediately in case of phase loss, preventing the motor from being burnt due to phase loss.

Overheating protection: the internal thermal relay will monitor the temperature of the thyristor radiator, and when the temperature exceeds the permissible value, it will automatically shut down the thyristor, stop the motor operation, and send out an alarm signal to ensure the safety and reliability of the equipment.

Control and adjustment function: Users can set the starting parameters, such as starting voltage, acceleration time, current limiting multiplier, etc., through the operation panel or communication interface according to the load characteristics of the motor and the actual demand, in order to achieve the best starting effect. At the same time, some models also have torque control function, which can accurately control the output torque of the motor to meet the requirements of different loads.

Communication function: Generally equipped with communication interface, such as Modbus, Profibus and other common communication protocols, it can realise the communication connection with the upper computer control system or other intelligent devices, which is convenient for remote monitoring, parameter setting and centralised management, and improves the degree of automation and the level of intelligence of the system.

Energy-saving function: When the motor is running at light load, the soft starter can automatically reduce the input voltage of the motor, reduce the energy consumption of the motor, realise a certain degree of energy saving effect, and reduce the operating cost.

Application Fields

Industrial field: widely used in various industrial motor starting control, such as pumps, fans, compressors, conveyor belts and other equipment. For example, in the starting of centrifugal pumps in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the soft starter can avoid the water hammer effect during starting and protect the pipeline system; in the starting of conveyor belt drive motors in cement factories, the soft starter can achieve a smooth start, reduce the tension impact of the belt, and prolong the service life of the equipment.

Commercial building field: It is also used in the air-conditioning system, lift system and other equipment in commercial buildings. For example, in the central air-conditioning system of large shopping malls, controlling the start-up of air-conditioning compressors through soft starters can reduce the start-up current, reduce the interference to the power grid, and at the same time, improve the operational stability and reliability of the air-conditioning system; in the lift system, it can ensure that the lift motor starts and stops smoothly, and improve the comfort of passengers.
