Basic Introduction

The ABB Electrical 1SVR550107R1100 On Delay Time Relay is an energised delay type time relay. It plays a key time control role in electrical control systems by delaying the output signal to co-ordinate the sequence of actions of various devices in the circuit.

Functions

Power-on delay function

The main function is power-on delay. When the control coil of the relay is energised, it does not change the state of the output contacts immediately, but the output contacts are actuated only after a pre-set delay time. For example, in an automated production line, when the start button is pressed to energise the relay, it can delay for a certain period of time before switching on the motor's start circuit to achieve a delayed start of the motor, thus avoiding the current impact caused by simultaneous start of multiple devices.

Adjustable time range

With adjustable time range, it can meet different delay requirements. The specific time range needs to refer to the detailed product specifications, but in general, it can be adjusted from zero seconds to several seconds or even longer. This flexibility makes it possible to adapt to a variety of complex industrial control scenarios, such as dosing time control in chemical production processes, delayed switching on of lighting in building electrical systems, and so on.

Precise Time Control

The use of high-precision timing circuits provides precise time delays. Timing accuracy is usually within a certain error range, which is small enough to ensure the accuracy of the time delay in various application scenarios. For example, in the control of experimental equipment or the timing control of precision machining equipment, which requires high time accuracy, a predetermined time delay can be reliably realised to ensure the normal operation of the system.

Output contact function

Equipped with multiple output contacts, including normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) contacts. These contacts can be used to control other electrical devices according to the change of state after the time delay. For example, normally open contacts can be closed at the end of the delay to switch on load circuits such as motors, indicator lights, etc. Normally closed contacts can be disconnected at the end of the delay to cut off circuits of other devices for interlock control or signal feedback.

This voltage range is the power condition to ensure the normal operation of the relay, and you need to select the appropriate relay according to the control power in the actual application scenario.

Output contact ratings: These include contact voltage ratings (e.g. 250V) and current ratings (e.g. 4A). These parameters determine the size and type of load that the relay can control, ensuring that the contacts will work reliably when the load is connected and will not be damaged by overload.

Mounting: Various mounting options may be supported, such as DIN rail mounting. This type of mounting complies with the relevant standards (e.g. IEC 60715), facilitates quick installation and layout in electrical control cabinets, saves installation space and can be easily combined with other electrical components.

Areas of application

Industrial automation

They are widely used in the control circuits of various types of industrial production equipment. For example, in machine tool processing, it is used to control the feed delay of the tool and the spray delay of the coolant, etc. In the control of injection moulding machine, it is used to control the time sequence of mould closing, injection and pressure holding in the process of injection moulding, so as to ensure the product quality and production efficiency.

Building Electrical System

It has important applications in lighting systems, lift control systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems of buildings. For example, in the lighting system, it can achieve delayed switching on or off of lights to create different lighting scenarios; in the lift control system, it is used to control operations such as delayed closing of lift doors to improve passengers' experience.

Power system automation

In power facilities such as substations and power distribution rooms, it is used to control operations such as the casting and cutting time of capacitor banks and the triggering delay of signal relays. Through precise time control, it improves the power factor of the power system and ensures the safe and stable operation of the power system.
