Advantest D3186-13-15-72 Pulse Pattern Generator
Advantest D3186-13-15-72 Pulse Pattern Generator
Basic Specification
Model: Advantest D3186-13-15-72
Type: Pulse Pattern Generator
Brand: Advantest
Place of Origin: Japan
Caution
Avoid using D3186 in dusty areas, in direct sunlight or where corrosive gases are generated.
Ensure that it is used in conditions of suitable ambient temperature and humidity and avoid excessive mechanical shock to the unit.
Since the D3186 has an exhaust cooling fan, leave a space of at least 10 cm between the rear panel and the wall and avoid blocking the air intake holes on both sides of the unit.
Main functions and features
High speed and high accuracy:
Capable of generating multiple types of patterns at speeds ranging from 150 Mb/s to 12 Gb/s, including pseudo-random (PRBS) patterns, programmable (WORD) patterns, and frame patterns for SDH or SONET structures.
Frequency setting resolution up to 1 kHz, frequency stability of ±10 ppm/year, and frequency accuracy of 0.01% ensure accurate test results.
Multi-mode support:
7 types of pseudo-random (PRBS) code patterns can be generated, from 27-1 to 231-1.
Programmable (WORD) code patterns up to 8M bits.
Supports frame code patterns for SDH or SONET structures, generating SDH/SONET frame patterns close to the actual data.
Multi-channel output:
Provides 2 data channels, 3 clock channels and 7 sub-rate channels to meet the needs of complex test scenarios.
High-precision clock generator:
Built-in high-precision synthetic clock generator provides 16 frequency memories for fast frequency setting.
For PRBS mode, the marker ratio can be changed between 8 values.
Flexibility and Expandability:
Provides an ‘alternative’ mode to switch between WORD and FRAME mode for measurement.
Supports differential data output, differential clock output, and fixed-amplitude clock output, supporting a wide range of application types.
Remote control and storage:
Supports GPIB (IEEE 488-1978) interface for complete remote control, making it easy to build measurement and test systems.
Built-in floppy disk drive (or other storage media may be used in modern versions) for storing and recalling the contents of setup conditions and mode settings.
Highly accurate phase control:
Equipped with a motor-driven delay block, the phase of the clock output can be varied with a resolution of 1 ps up to ±400 ps.
System integration capability:
When used in conjunction with the D3286 BER detector, the master-slave function interlocks their modes to build systems for evaluating the BER of ultra-high-speed optical communication equipment and compound semiconductors.
