Product Overview

ABB DSCA190V (order number: 57310001-PK) is a high-performance communication processor for industrial automation control systems, belonging to the ABB Advant OCS series core communication components. Its core positioning is to serve as a "data exchange hub" between multiple devices and systems, specifically solving the problem of heterogeneous communication between distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), intelligent instruments, and upper monitoring systems in industrial sites, achieving transparent data transmission and collaborative control of different protocols and devices. It is widely used in large-scale industrial control scenarios in industries such as thermal power, chemical, metallurgy, and papermaking, and is a key core equipment to ensure information interconnection and intercommunication of industrial control systems.

This communication processor integrates ABB's core technology in industrial communication protocol conversion and data processing, and has the characteristics of wide protocol compatibility, high data transmission rate, strong operational stability, and outstanding anti-interference ability. In response to the complex communication network environment and multi vendor equipment collaboration requirements in industrial sites, a modular hardware architecture and configurable software platform are adopted, which can be seamlessly integrated into mainstream control systems such as ABB Advant OCS and Symphony Plus. At the same time, it supports compatible docking with third-party vendor equipment such as Siemens and Rockwell, greatly improving the scalability and flexibility of industrial control networks and effectively reducing the technical barriers and communication bottlenecks of multi system integration.

Core functions and roles

2.1 Multi protocol conversion and heterogeneous network interconnection

The DSCA190V communication processor is equipped with a rich library of industrial communication protocols, supporting more than 20 mainstream industrial communication protocols such as PROFIBUS DP-V1/V2, EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU/TCP, DeviceNet, CANopen, etc. It can achieve bidirectional conversion and transparent transmission of data between different protocol devices. For example, in the chemical production workshop, ABB frequency converters using PROFIBUS DP protocol, intelligent pressure instruments using Modbus RTU protocol, and Rockwell PLC data using EtherNet/IP protocol can be uniformly aggregated and transmitted to the Symphony Plus DCS system to achieve centralized monitoring and collaborative control of multi device data. The protocol conversion delay is ≤ 1ms, ensuring real-time data transmission.

2.2 High speed data processing and traffic control

The module is equipped with a dual core 32-bit high-performance processor with a clock speed of 1GHz, paired with 512MB DDR3 memory and 8GB flash memory, capable of processing data from 128 independent communication links simultaneously, with a maximum data transfer rate of 1Gbps. Built in intelligent traffic control algorithm, supports data priority grading (real-time control data priority is the highest), can automatically allocate bandwidth resources according to data types, and avoid control delays caused by non critical data occupying communication links. At the same time, it has data caching function. When there is a brief interruption in the network, it can cache the last 1000 critical control data, and automatically resume transmission after the network is restored to ensure that data is not lost.

2.3 Network redundancy and high reliability guarantee

Adopting a "dual network port+dual power supply" dual redundancy design, it supports ring network redundancy (PROFINET ring network, EtherNet/IP ring network) and star network redundancy topology. When the main communication link fails, it can automatically switch to the backup link within 50ms, with a communication recovery time of ≤ 10ms. The dual power input supports automatic switching between the main and backup, with a switching time of ≤ 1ms, ensuring the continuous operation of the module. In addition, the module has network diagnosis and fault warning functions, which can monitor the communication link status in real time (such as link interruption, data packet loss, bit error rate). When an abnormality is detected, it will immediately notify the operation and maintenance personnel through dry contact output or network alarm, and record the fault log for traceability.

2.4 Secure Communication and Data Encryption

Built in industrial grade secure communication module, supporting VPN (Virtual Private Network), SSL/TLS data encryption transmission, and device access permission management. Through VPN, secure communication between remote monitoring centers and on-site devices can be achieved, preventing data from being stolen or tampered with during public network transmission; The SSL/TLS encryption algorithm ensures the privacy and integrity of data transmission between devices; Support access control based on IP address and device number, only authorized devices can access communication networks, effectively resist network attacks and illegal access, and comply with the IEC 62443 industrial information security standard.

2.5 Flexible configuration and remote operation and maintenance

Support visual configuration through ABB Communication Studio dedicated configuration software, without the need to write complex code. Communication link setup, protocol parameter configuration, and data mapping can be completed through drag and drop. Equipped with one USB interface and one RS-232 debugging interface for easy on-site debugging; Support web configuration and remote firmware upgrade. Operations personnel can log in to the module's web management interface through a browser to view communication status, modify configuration parameters, and upgrade firmware in real time without the need to go to the site, significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs.
