GE IC670MDL730 module

The IC670MDL730 DC output module is a 24 volt DC positive logic electronic short circuit protection output module manufactured by GE Fanuc. Each output on the module provides electronic short circuit and overcurrent protection. In case of overcurrent or short circuit, the field control IC670MDL730 DC output module also provides a generated fault report. The power supply of the bus interface module can be used to power on the module. It has an indicator LED that provides output on/off status, power status, and module fault status. It is compatible with the IC670GBI002 Genius Bus interface module version 2.10 or later and the Profibus interface unit.

The IC670MDL730 discrete output module has 8 discrete outputs in a set. During operation, the bus interface module sends output data to the output module. It sends data in serial format. To verify the data, the output module itself automatically sends the data back to the bus interface module in a circular fashion. After validation, the serial-to-parallel converter converts the data into a parallel format for use within the module. The module also provides built-in overcurrent protection when the current exceeds a specified value or duration. When the load is short-circuited, the short-circuit protection will trip. The IC670MDL730 DC output module has a 100 microsecond short-circuit response current of 20 amps. It does not provide inter-group isolation, but provides MOV on the power cord to protect the module from transient voltage surges. It is also equipped with capacitors for noise protection.
