GE IS200JPDGG1A Power Distribution System Feedback I/O Module

GE IS200JPDGG1A Power Distribution System Feedback I/O Module

Part Number IS200JPDGG1A Manufacturer General Electric Country of Manufacture As Per GE Manufacturing Policy Series Mark VI/VIe Function Module Availability In StockIS200JPDGG1A is a power distribution module developed by GE. It is a part of Mark VIe control system. The Power Distribution board plays a critical role in the control system by efficiently distributing power to various components. It manages both control power and wetting power, along with providing sensing circuitry for ac distribution. The board receives 28 V dc input power from external ac/dc or dc/dc converters for control power distribution.

It acts as a central hub, distributing power to the control system while ensuring fuse protection for all 28 V dc outputs. PHYSICAL ARRANGEMENT Typically positioned within the cabinet in a manner that allows convenient access for maintenance and monitoring. Connector P2, located on the JPDG, serves as the interface for receiving feedback signals from other power distribution boards within the system. These signals are then transmitted to the PPDA for analysis and monitoring purposes. When installed, it is mounted vertically within the cabinet, ensuring efficient utilization of space while maintaining accessibility. Adjacent to the module, the PPDA I/O pack is connected, facilitating seamless communication and data exchange between the two components.

One notable advantage of this arrangement is the clear visibility of all indicator lights present on the PPDA I/O pack. These lights provide essential information regarding the status and performance of the power distribution system, allowing operators to quickly identify any issues or anomalies for prompt resolution. GROUND FAULT DETECTION The board is equipped with features to facilitate ground fault detection within the power distribution system. It utilizes a wetting voltage DC bus configuration that maintains ground potential at the center through the use of a high-resistance connection.

This setup enables the detection of ground faults by monitoring the voltage levels of both the positive and negative buses concerning ground. To achieve thism, it incorporates separate voltage feedback sensing mechanisms for the positive and negative power lines concerning ground. Feedback signals from these sensing circuits are then relayed to the control system, enabling the detection and notification of ground faults. The sensitivity of ground fault detection and the magnitude of ground fault currents are determined by the resistance used to center the DC bus on ground. Within the JPDG, centering resistors are integrated and can be selected via jumper JP1. The presence or absence of centering resistance elsewhere in the system influences the configuration of this jumper.

Responsible for providing the centering function, jumper JP1 should be closed to activate the centering resistors within the board. However, if centering resistance is implemented elsewhere in the system, JP1 should remain open. In scenarios where both the JPDG and a JPDE are employed for distributing wetting power, only one of the two boards should have its JP1 jumper closed to avoid redundancy. INSTALLATION Mounting Procedure: The board is vertically base-mounted onto a metal bracket within the control cabinet used by the Power Distribution Module (PDM).

It is securely attached with four screws, utilizing mounting holes located at the top and bottom of the module base. While the location within the cabinet is not critical, distribution boards are typically mounted low to facilitate grounding. CONNECTION POINTS AND POWER INPUTS: Diagnostic Connector (P2): A 50-pin diagnostic connector, P2, is mounted on the bottom of the board. Power Inputs: Control Power Input (28 V DC): Either one or two 28 V dc control power input connections are made through connectors JR and JS. It features a common 28 V dc bus for efficient power distribution. Wetting Power Input (24/48 V DC): One or two 24 V dc wetting power input connections, or alternatively one or two 48 V dc input connections, are made through connectors JPS1 and JPS2. Includes a com mon 24/48 V dc wetting voltage bus. Integration with PPDA I/O Pack: The PPDA I/O pack is plugged into connector JA1 on the board.

It is securely fastened to the base using an angle bracket and held in place with nuts threaded onto studs that are permanently attached to the base for this purpose. Diagnostic Feedback Routing: Diagnostic feedback inputs from other distribution boards are routed via a 50-pin ribbon cable attached to connector P2. This facilitates comprehensive monitoring and diagnostic capabilities within the control system.
