As the core model of ABB VSC series, VSC7 (SCO) supports single command operation mode (SCO), which means closing when the auxiliary power supply is supplied, and closing when receiving opening commands or when the auxiliary power supply voltage is insufficient, equivalent to electrical self holding function. It is suitable for fixed or withdrawable installation of UniGear switchgear and power box, and can be flexibly integrated into various medium voltage distribution systems.


Core functions

1. Efficient vacuum disconnection, safe and reliable

Adopting vacuum arc extinguishing chamber technology, the vacuum degree inside the arc extinguishing chamber is as high as 1.3 × 10 ⁻⁴ Pa. The metal vapor generated by the separation of the main contact during disconnection can be quickly extinguished at the first zero crossing of the current, and the dielectric strength of the fracture surface can be quickly restored, effectively limiting overvoltage. Its current cutoff value is not higher than 0.5A, which provides more accurate protection for equipment in scenarios such as motor opening and closing, avoiding damage to the load caused by overvoltage.

2. Bi stable permanent magnet operation, energy-saving and environmentally friendly

Equipped with ABB's mature "MAC" type bistable permanent magnet actuator, compared to traditional electromagnetic actuators, the power consumption is significantly reduced, fully reflecting the energy-saving and environmentally friendly design concept. The institution operates stably, can achieve high-frequency operations, adapts to frequent start stop industrial scenarios, and has a maintenance free feature that greatly reduces operation and maintenance workload.

3. Wide voltage adaptation, flexible operation mode

Equipped with a wide voltage power supply module, it can accurately adapt to 220-250V AC/DC auxiliary power supply, compatible with 50/60Hz frequency, and can be flexibly adapted according to on-site power supply conditions. Supports SCO single command operation mode, with simple and clear operation logic, and can be used in conjunction with fuses in networks with short-circuit capacity up to 1000MVA, enhancing the system's short-circuit protection capability.

4. Comprehensive protection, adaptable to multiple loads

Has excellent thermal stability and short-circuit withstand capability, can effectively cope with 1/2 cycle overcurrent impact, and can adapt to various load types such as AC-3 and AC-4. It can provide precise control and protection functions for different load characteristics such as electric motors, transformers, and capacitor banks, especially suitable for special scenarios such as back-to-back capacitor bank switching.
