GE HYDRAN 201Ti Single Channel Gas Monitoring Transmitter

Product Overview

The stable operation of transformers is crucial in the power system. Once a transformer malfunctions, it may lead to widespread power outages, causing serious impacts on production and daily life. The GE HYDRAN 201Ti single channel gas monitoring transmitter has emerged as a professional monitoring device capable of real-time monitoring of dissolved gases in transformer oil, ensuring the safe operation of transformers.

Working principle

GE HYDRAN 201Ti adopts advanced fuel cell technology. When faults occur inside the transformer, such as insulation degradation, overheating, arcing, etc., it can cause the decomposition of transformer oil to produce various gases, such as hydrogen (H ₂), carbon monoxide (CO), acetylene (C ₂ H ₂), ethylene (C ₂ H ₄), etc. This transmitter can capture and analyze these faulty gases through specific sensors. Among them, its composite gas sensor has a 100% response to hydrogen and also has high sensitivity to carbon monoxide, acetylene, and ethylene. By detecting the concentration changes of these gases, the transmitter can accurately determine the operating conditions inside the transformer.

Functional characteristics

Continuous monitoring of key fault gases: capable of real-time and uninterrupted measurement of key fault gases in transformer oil, allowing operation and maintenance personnel to understand the condition of the transformer at any time and discover potential problems in a timely manner.

Gas sensors are optional: offering two options: traditional "composite gas" sensors and more basic "hydrogen only" sensors. Composite gas sensors can comprehensively monitor various fault gases, covering the main root causes of faults; Only hydrogen sensors focus on monitoring hydrogen and are suitable for scenarios with relatively single monitoring requirements.

Remote data transmission: With remote transmission function, the measured gas ppm value and gas change rate value can be transmitted to the remote monitoring center, and the operation and maintenance personnel can achieve remote monitoring of the transformer without going to the site, greatly improving work efficiency.

Configurable alarm: capable of issuing an alarm when abnormal levels of faulty gas are detected. Two alarm levels can be set, one for "alarm" and one for "alarm", to display an increase in the severity of the fault. And the alarm setting can be based on the gas ppm level or the hourly or daily gas change rate (ROC), and it automatically self checks every 15 days. If a fault is detected, such as power outage, oil valve closure, sensor or battery replacement, a service alarm will be triggered.

Human computer interface friendly: equipped with a backlit LCD display screen, which can clearly display gas information. Equipped with a keyboard for stopping devices and confirming alarms. Simultaneously with General Electric's highly acclaimed Perception ™ Software compatibility makes it easy to download and analyze transformer data, providing more intuitive data display and analysis tools for operation and maintenance personnel.

Technical parameters

Measurement range: It has different measurement capabilities for multiple gases, such as a relative sensitivity of 100% for hydrogen, 18% for carbon monoxide, and 8.5% for ethylene. The overall measurement range can reach 0-2000 ppm (volume ratio).

Response time: The time to reach 90% response is 10 minutes, which can react quickly to changes in gas concentration.

Working temperature: It can work normally in an ambient temperature range of -20 ° C to+50 ° C, adapt to a certain range of temperature changes, and meet the needs of different environments.

Storage temperature: The storage temperature range is -40 ° C to+85 ° C, ensuring the storage stability of the device in different environments.

Power supply: The input voltage is 100-240V AC, the frequency is 50/60Hz, and the output voltage is 24V DC, which can adapt to common power supply environments.

Size: The external dimensions of the device are 200mm x 100mm x 50mm, designed to be compact and easy to install on transformers without taking up too much space.

Accuracy: The measurement accuracy can reach ± 5%, ensuring the accuracy of the measurement data.

Communication interface: Equipped with RS-485 standard connection port, supporting Modbus or Hydran protocol, facilitating data exchange and communication with other devices or systems.

Installation and maintenance

Easy installation: It can be directly installed on the upper valve of the transformer and connected to the dissolved gas monitoring valve of the transformer through a brass adapter, without the need for additional pipelines or pumps. The installation process is simple and fast, reducing installation costs and time.

Low maintenance cost: The equipment has no moving parts, reducing maintenance work caused by component wear and tear. At the same time, it has full system self-test and self diagnosis functions, which can automatically detect equipment failures such as sensor failures, power failures, etc., and issue timely alarms, facilitating maintenance and repair by operation and maintenance personnel and reducing maintenance costs.

Application Fields

Power facilities

For simple and non critical transformers, it is an effective monitoring solution.

It can help power companies concentrate and prioritize asset replacement strategies, by monitoring the operation status of transformers in real time, determining whether transformers need to be replaced, and arranging asset replacement plans reasonably.

Industrial plant

Reduce the risk of process interruption caused by power outages. In industrial production, many processes require extremely high stability of electricity. This transmitter can provide early warning of transformer faults, avoid power outages caused by transformer faults, and ensure the continuity of industrial production.

Minimize costly downtime and improve the production efficiency and economic benefits of industrial enterprises.

In other fields, such as transformer monitoring in power supply systems such as railways and subways in the transportation industry, as well as in data centers with high requirements for power stability, GE HYDRAN 201Ti single channel gas monitoring transmitters can play an important role in ensuring the reliable operation of power systems.
