Product positioning and core values

ABB DSTF610 is an industrial grade high-density I/O terminal unit designed for centralized signal transfer and isolation processing in small and medium-sized automation systems. Its core function is to achieve signal matching and safe transmission between control modules, field sensors, and actuators. It is widely used in scenarios that require high reliability signal transfer, such as mechanical manufacturing, intelligent warehousing, and food processing.

Its core value is reflected in "high-density integration+strong isolation protection+flexible adaptation": a single module can achieve centralized access of multiple signals, greatly saving cabinet installation space; Equipped with comprehensive electrical isolation and anti-interference design, suitable for complex industrial electromagnetic environments; Compatible with ABB S3 series and AC 500 eCo series control modules, it can seamlessly integrate into existing control systems and reduce integration complexity.

Core parameters and functional characteristics

1. Key electrical and performance parameters

Terminal configuration

24 terminal interfaces, supporting 16 channels of digital input (DI)/output (DO) signal conversion, 8 channels of analog input (AI)/output (AO) signal conversion, terminal spacing 5.08mm, compatible with wires of 1.5mm ² and below

Isolation performance

The input/output circuit is electrically isolated from the backplane bus, with an isolation voltage of 2500V AC (1 minute); Digital circuit optoelectronic isolation, analog circuit signal isolation, effectively suppressing common mode interference

Signal compatibility

Digital quantity: Supports 24V DC (drain/source type universal), signal response delay ≤ 50 μ s; Analog quantity: Supports 4-20mA/0-10V signals, with a sampling accuracy loss of ≤ 0.1%

Mechanical and environmental parameters

Dimensions (length x width x height): 120mm x 80mm x 60mm, compatible with 35mm DIN rail installation; Working temperature -20 ℃ to 70 ℃, relative humidity 5% -95% (non condensing), protection level IP20

Security certification

Compliant with CE (EN 61131-2), UL (UL 508) industrial safety standards, flame retardant rating UL 94 V-0, meeting industrial site safety requirements

2. Core functional features

High density signal integration: Compared with the TU515 terminal unit (16 terminals), DSTF610 has increased the number of terminals by 50%, and can simultaneously convert digital and analog signals, especially suitable for small control systems with dense signal points (such as 6-axis robot auxiliary workstations), reducing the number of terminal units used and compressing cabinet space.

Graded anti-interference design: The digital circuit adopts a photoelectric isolation chip (isolation voltage 2500V AC), and the analog circuit integrates an RC filtering circuit (adjustable filtering frequency 10Hz), which can resist electromagnetic interference generated by frequency converters and high-power motors, ensuring signal transmission stability (signal error ≤ 0.1%).

Quick plug-in connection: using spring type crimping terminals, reliable connection can be achieved by inserting wires, and wiring operations can be completed without tools; The backplane interface adopts a standard 26 pin horn connector, which supports blind insertion and docking with dedicated cables, and the wiring efficiency is 40% higher than TU515.

Visual monitoring of status: Each terminal corresponds to an independent LED indicator light (green constant light indicates normal signal, flashing indicates signal transmission), which can intuitively judge the signal on/off status and shorten the troubleshooting time to minutes.

Adaptation logic and collaborative application with YB560100-EA S3

1. Core adaptation relationship and connection scheme

Control module

ABB YB560100-EA S3 industrial control module achieves signal interaction between terminal units and modules through TK520 dedicated shielded connection cable (0.3m/0.5m optional)

Connecting cables

TK520 cable: One end is a 26 pin horn plug (connected to DSTF610 backplane interface), the other end is a module specific interface (connected to YB560100-EA S3 I/O expansion port), and the shielding layer is grounded at one end

External devices

Digital devices: 24V DC photoelectric sensors (such as ABB O5 series), travel switches; Analog equipment: PT100 temperature transmitter, pressure sensor; Actuators: AC contactors, DC solenoid valves

Auxiliary equipment

ABB PM501 power module (providing 24V DC power supply for terminal units, power consumption ≤ 3W), DIN rail fixing clip (model 1SAP15000R0001)

2. Collaborative application case: Control system for small food packaging production line

System architecture: The production line needs to monitor the operating status of 4 packaging machines (DI signal), 2 heating temperatures (AI signal, 4-20mA), 1 packaging film tension (AI signal, 0-10V), and control 3 conveyor belt motors (DO signal) and 2 heating powers (AO signal, 4-20mA).

Connection logic:

Four packaging machine status signals, two temperature transmitter signals, and one tension sensor signal are connected to terminals 1-7 of the DSTF610 terminal unit through wires;

DSTF610 is connected to the I/O expansion port of YB560100-EA S3 through TK520 cable to achieve signal upload;

After module calculation, control instructions are output and transmitted to terminals 8-12 of DSTF610 through TK520 cable, thereby controlling the conveyor motor contactor and heating power regulator.

Core advantage: Only 1 DSTF610 is needed to complete the conversion of 7 input and 5 output signals. Compared to using 2 TU515 (requiring additional signal distributors), the wiring complexity is reduced by 60%, and the system response time is shortened to 150ms (25% faster than TU515 system).
