DESCRIPTION
The BENTLY 3300/20 DUALTHRUST POSITION MONITOR (Bentley 3300/20 Dual Thrust Position Monitor) is a monitoring system developed by Bently Nevada, Inc. specifically designed for the continuous measurement and monitoring of the axial position of shafts in relation to the axial clearance of machines.
Main functions and features
Dual-channel monitoring: the monitor has two independent channels, capable of monitoring the same collar or two different positions of the shaft at the same time, improving the accuracy and reliability of monitoring.
Thrust Bearing Failure Detection: It is able to detect the failure of thrust bearing at an early stage, which is of great significance to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
High-precision measurement: Measurement of thrust position is achieved by measuring the gap voltage through the proximity probe, which has high precision and stability.
False alarm protection: As sensor failures (e.g. out-of-range clearance) can be misinterpreted as thrust position movement, leading to false thrust alarms, it is recommended that two proximity probes are used for monitoring and configured for AND voting (i.e. both sensors must reach or exceed the alarm set point at the same time in order to activate the alarm relay) to prevent false alarms.
LED Indicators: Each channel is equipped with one green LED indicator and one red LED indicator to show the operational status of the monitor, sensors and field wiring as well as alarm status.
Installation and Configuration
Mounting probe: It is usually necessary to install an axial probe to directly monitor the thrust ring to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results.
