ABB introduces the IRB 5720 robot to further expand ABB's large robot portfolio. The IRB 5720 features increased operating speed, accuracy and cast protection. Four different robot models provide customers with a variety of options, including 90kg to 180kg loads and operating ranges of 2.6m to 3m.

Faster, more robust

The robust mechanical design and outstanding motion control provided by the OmniCore V250XT controller allow the IRB 5720 to achieve both speed and accuracy. Production efficiency has been significantly improved. The IRB 5720 is not only faster than its peers, it is 25% faster than ABB's other large robots (IRB 6700 and IRB6620), allowing it to produce more products in less time.

With excellent repeatable positioning accuracy (0.04-0.05mm), path accuracy (0.1-0.14mm) and path accuracy (1-1.2 mm), the IRB 5720 offers significant accuracy advantages, enabling high quality production to a large extent.

LeanID Integrated cable package

ABB's LeanID Integrated DressPack technology reduces cable wobble by integrating the cable into the robot, which reduces cable wear, reduces downtime and reduces maintenance costs. LeanID technology can also be easily programmed and simulated in ABB RobotStudio® offline programming software with predictable cable movements.

Flexible production layout

The IRB 5720 is available in three mounting modes, including floor, tilt, upside down and semi-rack, which significantly increases the flexibility of the production layout.
