I. Overview

China's "Dimensional tolerance of plastic molded parts" (GB/T14486-2008) shows that the tolerance level of injection molded parts can be divided into MT1 to MT7 seven levels, of which MT1 is the lowest degree of error, that is, the highest level of precision, MT7 is the lowest precision and the highest level of error. For example, China's injection molding market practice defines injection molding products or molds above MT3 standards as precision injection molding levels.

For example, the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the high-quality Development of Light Industry" issued in 2022 pointed out that it is necessary to upgrade the manufacturing engineering of innovative products, among which the upgrading and innovation content of plastic products is: new antibacterial plastics, high-end plastics for 5G communication, special engineering plastics, blood purification plastics, high-end optical films, etc. Promote the advanced industrial foundation, and vigorously develop high-end special equipment for the plastic products industry. Prepare the industrial chain map of plastic products, and promote the reinforcement chain and strong chain.

Iii. Industrial Chain

The upstream of the injection molding industry chain is the supply of raw materials and injection molding equipment, of which raw materials mainly include polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene and ABS resin and other plastic materials, of which polystyrene, polyethylene and polypropylene resin accounts for the highest proportion, accounting for about 70% of the total raw materials; The middle reaches are the production and supply of injection molding products; Downstream is widely used in transportation, packaging, communications, posts and telecommunications, building materials, home appliances, aerospace and other fields.

4. Development status

With the rapid development of China's economy in recent years, the demand for injection molded products in downstream areas such as automobiles, home appliances, medical health, consumer electronics, daily necessities, packaging and so on continues to increase, at the same time, with the development of polymer material technology and the development of high-strength new materials, the application field of injection molded products is also expanding, further driving the development of China's injection molded products industry. According to the data, in 2022, China's injection molding product production capacity is 43.75 million tons, an increase of 0.8; Output was 31.35 million tons, up 2.7% year-on-year; Demand was 26.3 million tons, up 2.4% year-on-year.

As the most important part of the plastic processing industry, the injection molding industry not only provides products for automobiles, buildings, household appliances, food, medicine, etc., but also the most basic production mode of the entire plastic processing industry. On the one hand, automobiles, home appliances and electronics as the largest traditional application areas of injection molding, China as the world's largest automobile and home appliances market, the market demand is very strong, providing a strong driving force for the development of injection molding products industry.
