Superior performance features

High loads and long reach: With a wide range of variants, from 150 kg to 300 kg load capacity and a working range of 2.6 m to 3.2 m, the IRB6700 series meets the needs of different industrial scenarios for lifting and handling heavy loads. Whether it's handling large parts in automotive manufacturing or moving heavy goods in logistics and warehousing, this series of robots can handle it with ease. The robots are available in both floor-mounted and inverted mounting options, which greatly increase installation flexibility and can be selected according to the space layout and process flow of the production plant. 


Rugged and reliable: The entire robot structure has been strengthened for greater rigidity, which not only improves accuracy, but also reduces cycle times and provides better protection for internal components. The series is able to adapt to the harshest working environments, with some models equipped with the ABB Ultimate Casting Plus 2 protection system, which allows stable operation in extreme conditions such as high temperatures, dusty and humid conditions, such as those found in foundries and metallurgical factories, and still ensures accuracy and continuity of work. During the development process, the IRB6700 has been validated and tested on a large number of robot prototypes to ensure that its reliability prediction in actual use is accurate. 


Energy efficient: While pursuing high performance, the IRB6700 series also focuses on energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption by 15 per cent compared to previous models. This feature not only helps enterprises to reduce operating costs, but also meets the current concept of sustainable development, and saves them a lot of money on electricity bills in industrial production that runs for a long time with significant energy-saving effects. 


Precision: The robot's excellent repeatability of ±0.05 mm or ±0.1 mm enables it to perform complex tasks with precision, such as the precise assembly of tiny parts in electronics manufacturing or high-precision welding operations in welding processes, ensuring consistent and stable product quality. 

Fast Response: Running speed is fast, on average 5% faster than the previous generation of products, greatly reducing operation cycle time and improving production efficiency. On an automated production line, fast action response allows products to flow more quickly between processes, increasing overall production capacity. For example, in the stamping and welding production line of automotive parts, IRB6700 can quickly grab and place the parts, and cooperate with other equipment to complete the production tasks efficiently.


Wide range of applications

Automotive industry: IRB6700 series plays an important role in the process of automotive manufacturing, from the handling and welding of parts to the assembly of the whole car. In the spot welding process, its high load capacity and precise positioning characteristics can easily carry the spot welding gun, accurately complete the welding of various parts of the body, to ensure the welding quality and strength of the body; in the material handling process, it can quickly and stably carry large parts such as engines, frames, etc., to improve production efficiency; in the area of machine care, it can accurately load and unload the machining equipment, to achieve the seamless connection of the automated production process. General Manufacturing: In general manufacturing fields such as machining and electronics manufacturing, the IRB6700 series also performs well. In electronics manufacturing, it can be used for the assembly of precision parts, and its high precision and repeatability ensure the accurate installation of tiny electronic components, improving the quality and productivity of electronic products; in machining, it can provide efficient loading and unloading services for CNC machine tools, etc., and work with automated machining processes to realise 24-hour uninterrupted production and improve equipment utilisation and production capacity.


Logistics and Warehousing: In intelligent logistics and warehousing systems, the IRB6700 series can be used as automated handling equipment. With its high load capacity and long travelling distance, it can quickly move goods in the warehouse and accurately place the goods to the designated shelves, which improves the utilisation of warehouse space and the efficiency of goods in and out of the warehouse. In large distribution centres, multiple IRB6700 robots work together to achieve efficient picking and handling of large-scale goods, improving the overall efficiency of logistics operations.
