Hundred miles of mines, is the existence of the sea in general. Although the coal resources have been exhausted, all the relics it left behind always tell everyone that this place was once brilliant.

The mining community, which accounts for half the city's population, sustains Fuxin's past. The construction of the motherland, dedication to self has become a clarion call of The Times, and continues to flow in the blood of the city with an unchanged character.

One hundred years of mine shape miners honest character

More than 120 years ago, on an autumn rainy day, the ravine near the Laojun Temple in Xinqiu Village was washed by the rain, revealing the "stone" that shone black and could burn, and someone founded the Dongsheng Kiln, and the Fuxin coal field began. After that, the first government-run coal mine, Jingfeng Coal Mine, was built in 1905. By 1913, 16 coal kilns had been built here with an annual output of more than 150,000 tons of coal.

After twists and turns, Fuxin coalfield entered a new era of development after the founding of New China. During the First Five-Year Plan period, the production capacity was increased by 8.41 million tons. From 1958 to 1985, the Fuxin mining area produced a total of 320.19 million tons of coal, with an average annual output of more than 10 million tons. From 1985 to 2000, the mining resources in Fuxin were gradually exhausted. At the end of 2001, Fuxin was identified as the first pilot city of economic transformation of resource-exhausted cities in the country. From 2001 to 2010, Xinqiu open-pit Coal mine, Dongliang Coal mine, Ping An Coal mine, Wangying Coal mine, Haizhou open-pit coal mine, Gade Coal Mine has gone bankrupt.

The hundred-year history of mining is not only the history written by generations of miners with their lives, but also the history that nourishes and shapes the character of the city. Thousands of miners come and go, and let the mining culture accumulate excellent spiritual characteristics.

Wang Zichen told reporters that after the founding of New China, Fuxin miners have such universal characteristics: blunt and simple, tolerance, the ability to eat great suffering and endure great labor is beyond ordinary people. Coal miners work 1,000 feet underground all year long, with special production environment, hard working conditions and frequent natural disasters. They consciously developed the excellent quality of hard work, and created a decisive and vigorous character.
